“WHO” – Furze

在“ＷＨＯ”這個新欄目裡，我們將會向各位以簡單的問管形式介紹更多有才華的創作人給大家認識。希望各位都能夠透個這一個”WHO”的欄目中，對本地創作人有更多的了解。在第一回被邀請的創作人是 – Furze。如果各位經常留連Kubrick或對手作有興趣的朋友應該都見過furze的作品，在Furze的作品當中，我們會看到很多大自然的元素，我們就籍著今次的機會令大家更認這個熱愛大自然及小動物的創作人吧。

In the “WHO” This new project, we will introduce to you many talented creative artists via a simple Q&A.Hope you are able to know about more local creative artists through this project, “WHO”. The first artist to be invited, we introduce to you – Furze. If you always look around at Kubrick or if you are interested in hand made work, you should probably have seen Furze’s work.We can see many elements of nature in Furze’s works, at this time, let us know more about an artist who is a fan of nature and animals!

1. 請你向各位介紹一下自己吧。
我是Furze，數年前畢業於理工大學設計系，愛好製作版畫和剪紙。我在去年創立了自己的紙品品牌”with her Animal Poetry”。

1. Can you introduce yourself to us?
I am Furze, I graduated in design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, I love making block print and paper-cutting. I created my own brand of paper production “with her Animal Poetry” from last year.

2. 當看到你的作品就會感到一股快樂及舒服的感覺, 可以分享一下你作品的概念嗎？
我的創作概念很簡單. 我用僅有的美學知識, 把大自然裡的元素表現在我的設計裡。從大自然裡我看到了純粹的美, 動物的眼睛和斑點, 鳥兒拍翼的姿態, 甚至是植物那種安靜的美態, 都是我愛觀看的東西. 我想, 她們已經慢慢地成為了我的創作靈感。

2. When I look at your work, I feel happiness and very comfortable, can you share to us about your creative concept ?
Actually my creavitve concept is very simple, based on my knowledge of aesthetics, I present the elements of nature in my design.
In the nature, I see the pure beauty, the eyes and the pattern of animals, the posture of birds wing shooting, even the static beauty in plants. All of them are the things that I love to watch.I think they become the inspiration of my design eventually gradually.

3. 作品都是親手作嗎? 有沒有什麼事情激發你有這個靈感?
所有紙品上的圖畫都是我親自製作的, 有的是墨水畫, 有的是剪紙。這個品牌出現的原因, 是因為一年多前, 我胡亂地嘗試把一些圖畫製成紙卡, 我發覺這個過程很好玩, 便開始認真地幹起來. 給她一個名稱和開始一系列較早期的產品, 放到一間小書店裡售賣。

3. Do you hand made all the works? Are there anything that stimulates you to have this inspiration?
All the images on the paper products are hand made by myself, some of them are lnk painting, some of them are paper cutting. The reason i created this brand is because one year ago, I randomly transferred some pictures into paper cards and I found that this process was very playful. Therefore, I started to work on it. I gave her a name, started the first series of paper products and put them in a bookstore for sell.

4. 我們看到動物/植物/大自然經常會出現在你的作品中, 有沒有什麼特別想表達的事? 本身有飼養寵物或有種植嗎?
我本身很喜愛大自然, 我想不到有甚麼能比大自然顯得更生動的東西. 所以我便以她作為創作的靈感來源。能把動物的神態在紙品上反映出來, 是一件非常愉快的事情。我希望別人看到了這些作品會像看到了小動物一樣，高興起來。我養了一隻天竺鼠, 一盆仙人掌, 一盆火星人(熱帶植物), 和一盆水種的金錢草。

4. We see animals, plants and nature in your works, are there any special meaning you want to present ? Do you have pets or planting?
I love nature, I can not think of anything that are more vivid than nature, that’s why it became my inspiration of my creation.To reflect spirits of animals onto products,is a very pleasant matter to me. I hope audience could feel happy when they discover my products, just like the joy they have when they see little animals around.

5. 曾經遇到一些朋友, 都很喜這類型的作品, 要是他們想嘗試製作,有沒有一些意見可以分享一下?
如果只是隨意的創作一下, 沒甚麼需要注意，反正這屬於個人的事情。但如果要成立一個品牌的話，注意的事情便會有很多，這個東西再不是純粹的創作玩意，需要花很多工夫在行政的工作上，更會有很多意想不到的瑣碎事要處理. 所以我們必須專注地做。

5. I met some friends and they also love this type of works, do you have any advices to share if someone wants to try making this type of works?
If you just want to have a play with that, there are nothing special you need to pay attention. This is a personal thing anyway. But, if you want to set up a brand, there will be a lots of thing you need to concern. This will not be a pure creation, it takes a lot of work in the administrative work, there will be many unexpected trivial matters to deal with. Therefore, we must focus on doing it.

For Hong Kong people who likes my works, I recommend you to go to the PALACE Café Shop in IFC Mall, this shop is very comfortable. You can also find my products in Kubrick, The bookshop and Kapok.
